Pilot feasibility grants

Applications may be submitted annually for Pilot Feasibility Grant Funding from either Liver Center investigators or other Yale investigators. Awards range from $20,000-$25,000 and may be renewed for a second year depending on progress made. Pilot Projects must relate to one of the Liver Center's themes and investigators should meet one of the following criteria:

  1. Senior fellow or junior faculty at Yale, currently not funded by NIH grants that are in need of funds to help prepare for R01-type applications.
  2. Established University investigators not currently funded for work related to the Center's focus but who wish to apply their areas of expertise to subjects of Center interest.
  3. Funded Center investigators who wish to pursue a project that is different from their current focus of interest, and who needs to develop data to apply for new R01-type funding.

Preference will be given to young investigators and to those using Center Core facilities as part of their research project. Letters of intent generally are due by the end of January, and full applications are due by the end of February. Final decisions are made in May and funding begins the following September. Interested investigators should contact Ann Thompson (5-5279), Dr. Boyer (5-5279) or JoAnn Sullivan (5-5526) for more information.
